Empowering Voices of Color in Climate Advocacy
Maliyah Womack, Climate Advocacy Lab

Communities of color have long been at the forefront of environmental and climate justice movements—yet their voices are too often marginalized within larger advocacy spaces. This session is designed to center and uplift BIPOC advocates by exploring strategies to amplify their leadership, create inclusive organizing structures, and build durable, supportive networks within the climate movement.

Through guided discussion, reflection, and practical examples, participants will learn how to:

  • Cultivate culturally responsive and affirming organizing environments
  • Navigate and disrupt power imbalances in advocacy spaces
  • Support BIPOC colleagues and communities through allyship and institutional change

This training is intended for both BIPOC advocates and allies looking to deepen their understanding of equity-driven organizing. Join us to co-create a vision for a more inclusive and just climate movement.
