Introduction to Graphic Design 101
Emi Okikawa, Climate Advocacy Lab

As organizers or non-profit staff, we sometimes have to wear multiple hats. Oftentimes, this includes creating a graphic here and there–for an upcoming event, a petition, or even to break down complex topics in an infographic on social media. It can be daunting to sort through colors, fonts, and elements to create something that is clear and compelling.

This session is designed for people who are new to graphic design and are looking to build their skills in simple graphics for social media.

Participants will leave this training with:

  • An understanding of basic design principles and how they work together
  • Tips for creating social media graphics (advocacy, events, and infographics)
  • An opportunity to get feedback in small breakout groups (which is great for testing how well you can distill your call to action!)
